**Construction and demolition waste** (CDW) is [waste](home/waste) generated by [construction](home/activity/construction) and [demolition](home/activity/demolition) activities with the following exceptions: (a) uncontaminated soil and other naturally occurring material excavated in the course of [construction](home/activity/construction) activities where it is guaranteed that the [material](home/product/material) will be used for the purposes of [construction](home/activity/construction) in its natural state on the site from which it was excavated and (b) waste waters (such as trade effluent disposed of via tankers, foul sewers, surface water drains, water courses, etc.).
